Tank Monitoring – Comprehensive System
Overview
Maretron’s Fluid Pressure Monitor (FPM100) can be used for one of two purposes, 1) to monitor pressure/vacuum, or 2) to monitor tank levels. Although a single FPM100 can be programmed to monitor both pressure/vacuum and tank levels, this particular example is for tank level monitoring.
This comprehensive tank monitoring system monitors six tanks using Maretron’s 8” touchscreen, a Fluid Pressure Monitor (FPM100) and six Maretron pressure transducers. The system can be calibrated for odd shaped tanks so you get precision tank level information. And since the tank capacity is programmable, you can see exactly how many gallons remain in the tank. You can even combine different tanks into a single gauge or display eliminating the need to continual perform mental calculations. The Ethernet gateway allows you to view tank information on a smartphone or tablet so you can observe tank levels while re-fueling from the dock. Finally, the Vessel Data Recorder (VDR100) keeps a complete record of all fluids added and consumed from the vessel while showing on a map where the fluids were added and consumed, with the GPS200 providing reference times and positions.
The following table shows the products included within this example system plus a list of the information or data available for display.
Product | Description | Available Data List |
TSM800C | Display | 8” Touchscreen displays data in this list, monitors the data and if there is a problem will sound external buzzer. |
ALM100 | Alarm buzzer | Sounds a loud buzzer when any monitored data in this list goes outside programmed limit |
FPM100 | Tank Monitor | Monitors level in 2 fuel tanks, 2 fresh water tank, 1 waste water tank, 1 black water tank |
IPG100 | N2K to ethernet | NMEA 2000 to ethernet gateway |
E2500 | Wifi router | Allows monitoring wirelessly or wired onboard, or remotely with internet connection |
VDR100 | Vessel Data Recorder | Performance analysis, vessel tracking, preventative maintenance, warranty incident, and accident investigation |
GPS200 | Cabin top GPS | Position, speed over ground, course over ground, time, date, magnetic variation and more |
