DCM100 Example – Intermediate System

Overview

Maretron’s Direct Current Monitor (DCM100) provides information about the DC electrical system and in this example the DCM100 is used to monitor the house battery bank. Vital battery information including voltage, current, state of charge, and battery temperature are provided. If the battery voltage drops to an unacceptable level, the display (DSM250) can detect the problem and instruct the text module (SMS100) to send a text message.

The following table shows the products included within this example system plus a list of the information or data available for display.

Product Description Available Data List
DSM250 Display Displays data in this list, monitors the data and sounds an internal buzzer if there is a problem
DCM100 Battery monitor Monitors voltage, current, state of charge and battery temperature
SMS100 Texting module Sends text messages to one or more phone numbers when any monitored data in this list goes outside programmed limits
