Battery Monitoring – Intermediate System (Two Batteries)

Overview

This intermediate system provides vital information for a starter battery and house battery including voltage, current, state of charge, and battery temperature. If the either battery voltage drops to an unacceptable level, the display (DSM250) can detect the problem and instruct the text module (SMS100) to send a text message.

The following table shows the products included within this example system plus a list of the information or data available for display.

Product Description Available Data List
DSM250 Helm Pod Display Displays data in this list, monitors the data and sounds an internal buzzer if there is a problem
DCM100 Starter Battery Monitors voltage, current, state of charge and battery temperature
DCM100 House Battery Monitors voltage, current, state of charge and battery temperature
SMS100 Texting module Sends text messages to one or more phone numbers when any monitored data in this list goes outside programmed limits
