Battery Monitoring – Comprehensive System (Two Batteries)

Overview

This comprehensive system provides vital battery information for a starter battery and house battery including voltage, current, state of charge, and battery temperature. If the battery voltage drops to an unacceptable level, the display (TSM800C – 8” touchscreen) can detect the problem and sound the buzzer in addition to instructing the text module (SMS100) to send a text message. The Internet Protocol Gateway (IPG100) and WiFi router (E2500) allows the information to be viewed wirelessly on the boat using smartphones and tablets and remotely from the shore with an Internet connection.

The following table shows the products included within this example system plus a list of the information or data available for display.

Product Description Available Data List
DCM100 Starter Battery Monitors voltage, current, state of charge and battery temperature
DCM100 House Battery Monitors voltage, current, state of charge and battery temperature
TSM800C Helm Display 8” Touchscreen displays data in this list, monitors the data and if there is a problem will sound external buzzer and send a text message to the SMS100.
ALM100 Alarm buzzer Sounds a loud buzzer when any monitored data in this list goes outside programmed limit
IPG100 N2K to Ethernet NMEA 2000 to Ethernet gateway
E2500 WiFi Router Allows monitoring wirelessly or wired onboard, or remotely with internet connection.
SMS100 Texting module Sends text messages to one or more phone numbers when any monitored data in this list goes outside programmed limits.
MCS-25GB Real Time Cloud Service Subscription service that allows real time access to the vessel from anywhere in the world with internet connection
